Opportunities to make money abound everywhere once you know where to look for products to sell on eBay.

Here are five ideas to get you started:

1. Garage sales

   Scope out local garage sales – go early and get the best picks and go at the end and pick up whatever is left for a bargain. Propose that you will take all the items off the seller’s hands for a low cost.

2. Inside your home

   Look in your home for things that you no longer use and are perhaps like new or things that are in good shape and not being used.

   Old printers, computers and cameras are always in demand and make great auctions.

   Do you have any old books, cookbooks or magazines lying around? There are a lot of interested buyers looking for these items.

   Clothing that children have grown out of are also very popular. You can bunch them into a group of one size and sell the lot for a pretty good price. By not listing one item at a time was save you both time and listing fees. People love to bid on lots like these.

3. Bargains at stores

   Hunt for bargains. If you can find popular branded items at a bargain price, buy them and flip them.

   End of season bargains are the best if you don’t mind holding on to the inventory for a few months.

   For example, pick up snow pants or boots for a few dollars at end of winter and flip them in the fall or early winter for up to five or ten times the price you paid.

   Bathing suits are great when they are on sale; these are hard to find in the winter months and are in great demand. Sell them in January and right before spring.

   The nice thing about shopping at your local stores is that if something doesn’t work out, you can always return them. Don’t make this a habit, however. Get to know your market well enough so that you can buy your goods to sell at a profit.

4. Craigslist

   There are loads of things people just want to get rid of on craigslist. You can find things people are giving away for free. People sometimes just want to get rid of their designer bags or clothing for quick cash, or toys kids have outgrown. Even if these items are used, but in great shape, they can sell well on eBay.

   Once you do your search and find something on craigslist, make sure you get to see the products before you make the purchase. If it is in good shape and reasonably priced, buy it and flip it on eBay.

   Keep your eyes open and you will find some really good deals.

5. Wholesalers and drop shippers

   The best approach to using wholesalers and drop shippers is to dig deep into a niche or specific niches and find a good wholesaler or drop shipper to supply the goods. Stay away from popular branded items; you will not be able to compete with the big players.

   There are all kinds of niches you can look into. Perhaps it’s specific types of gardening tools or fishing lures. These niches may be smaller, but more profitable. You may have less people, but a more targeted bunch of buyers.

   eBay is comprised of millions of buyers looking for just about anything you can imagine. With some research and a little bit of creativity, you can find all kinds of products to sell on eBay and start profiting quickly from this business.
